We will pass through the Region of Burgos called the Bureba. Essence of Castile, we find anything from large agricultural fields to intricate narrow passes and gorges witnesses to the Castilian history.
Along the route we will come across some of the most pictoresque and interesting towns and cities in the region.
On leaving the Hotel Ciudad de Burgos, we will arrive in Poza de la Sal where we will stop to do a tour of its medieval cobbled streets. San Cosme church and the Roman salt mines.
We will continue our route on to the village of Oña where we will visit, among other sights, the San Salvador Cloister and Church.
The route takes us on to Medina de Pomar, an important trade and craftwork centre of the Middle Ages where, as well as getting up our strenght with a tasty meal, we will visit the town with its Fortress of the Velascos, Santa Clara Monastery and the Judería Gate and Arch, etc.
Our next port of call takes us to the village of Frías, with its medieval atmosphere and its outstanding buildings such as the Castle of the Dukes of Frías, the fortified bridge and the "hanging houses".
On the way back to the hotel we will pass by Tobera, the medieval village and hermitage of Santo Cristo and Santa María de la Hoz, and then we will go up to the Portillo de Busto where we will be able to contemplate spectacular panoramic views of the Bureba.
