Rioja is a region with a wealth of landscapes, natural resources, festivals, craftwork and sight, not forgetting its gastronomy and unequalled wine.

We will head off in the direction of Belorado and start to contemplate the extensive vineyards of our neighbouring region.

We will make a stop-off in Santo Domingo de la Calzada on the Camino de Santiago. This village overlooks extensive plains on the banks of the river Oja in the western extreme of the region.

We visit the splendid protogothic Cathedral of San Salvador built in the XIIth century and finished in the XVIIIth, the walls, the square and surroundings.

We will continue towards San Millán de la Cogolla, cradle of the Castilian where we can visit the Monasteries of Suso and Yuso. The former is where the first dictionary of the Iberian Peninsula was found. The Monastery of Yuso keeps works of art and the most important original documents.

We have the possibility of visiting a Riojan winery near San Millán .

Inside a spectacular vale, not far from San Lorenzo's Peak, 1000 meters high there is the Monastery of Valvanera where we will make a stop on our way to restore strength.

Then, we will return admiring the beautiful scenery crossing the Mansilla Marsh , the Channels in the Mountain and we will enter the province of Burgos via Salas de los Infantes.
